What do I say I am? heritage?

I have no heritage, when people ask me "what are you?" i can never give a good answer, i usually just say I am northern european and it usually dampens the conversation, when i ask others usually they are just Irish, Turkish, Polish, German. Me? no. I am 25% scottish, 25% dutch, 25% french and 25% german. should i call myself scottishgermandutchfrench? my last name is scottish do I go by my last name? opinions...
