How is political oppression any different from economic oppression?

Political freedom is a makeshift invention of the bourgeois capitalists made to distract from the real cirstances of the proletariat. The hungry have no desire for cultured civility. The solution is a merger of civil liberties and economic equality, otherwise known as democratic socialism. How is economic oppression any different from political oppression?
