At what temperature do Texas Rattlesnakes start to hibernate? When is it safe to run the dogs?

We are in Georgetown Texas. I need to know when it is safe to let the dogs run at the lake. I had a dog get bitten a few years ago during a hot drought summer. It's in the 40's mornings here now but I'm not sure if it's safe to let the dogs run yet.
